Parental Guidance

My dear reader, I'm happy you clicked to read even though you may not be a parent. I'm even happier, because you clicked to listen to a non-parent trying to lay advice on parenting. Writing this article was challenging, and even though I worked with statistics on the ideas I bring to the table for consideration, it still does not mean they work 100%. This article is best for young people who are planning on getting married and having their own children, or even young couples, it's not exactly suitable for people who have been married with kids for over 20 years. I’m not here to teach you how to train your kids, but I’ll drop some aids that can equip you for better parenting. Parenting has no formula, but I'm sure every parent wants a happy home, except probably "your case is uniquely different". As a parent, you owe three aspects of life: God Your children The world God planted these seeds in your life and He expects you to grow the

Diarrhoea of the Mouth

One may wonder what this topic “The diarrhoea of the mouth” is all about since the word “DIARRHOEA” is health related. Firstly, I would love to take a look into the definition of the word “DIARRHOEA” WHAT  IS DIARRHOEA ? Diarrhoea is having loose and watery stools frequently in a day. It is acute when it lasts for 2 or 3 days. In this case, the individual has no control over it. WHAT THEN IS “THE DIARRHOEA OF THE MOUTH”? The diarrhoea is a health condition of the mouth. It is when an individual has no control over the things that comes out of his/her mouth. The diarrhoea of the mouth is a disease suffered by many persons in our society. This health condition is one which allows most persons to say/utter words anyhow from their mouths. The mouth was made by God so that through it He (GOD) might be glorified; blessings and life giving words might be said out of it.  Generally, a person having diarrhoea of the mouth is referred to as a “talkative” in the Nigerian society. Being

Acrimony Digest

I was filled with so much emotions just as you were at the end of the movie, “Acrimony”. I ended up clueless with a million questions running through my head. I had to resee……… and resee. Oh! And after two weeks I saw it again. It was at this point the clues in the movie started becoming clear. I am not sure what made you click to read but I promise your time would be worthwhile.  The story in the movie was a somewhat one-sided story told by a DERANGED woman. Deranged was synonymously described by the Tyler Perry with words like insane, mad, disturbed, unbalanced, unhinged, unstable, irrational, crazed, demented. These words all point towards an extreme psychological imbalance and anchor the reason why she used a callous language in telling the story. The story was also a bit one-sided like I said earlier; this is because we never saw the whole story from Robert’s perspective. What could have informed some of Robert’s actions? What did he feel throughout the story? Or was he ju

Our Lord's Prayer

Dear reader, this article you're about to read is the most difficult one I've written so far. I've heard a lot of people dialogue constructively, argumentatively or in some variable occasions, violently about this particular issue and I found it an intrinsic factor about christianity to write on. It is the issue of prayer. Many have come up with different views on the best way to reach out to God in prayer, each believing their school of thought stands as standard, perhaps the wonder behind numerous Christian churches. When the followers of Jesus asked Him to teach them how to pray, He taught them a particular prayer. It struck my intuition when I started asking myself some questions. Was it that the disciples did not know how to pray before Jesus came? Did Jesus just say any prayer just so they could learn? Does it mean we can't pray in any other form except the way Jesus stated it? I had to stop reciting this prayer and started meditating on it. This is someth

My Father’s Last Words

Dear reader, I would rather not bore you with what my family looked like, but we could easily be described by a Nigerian as “just there”. Good thing was, I had great parents who indifferently treated us differently but with a common goal. My mum was the bad cop in most cases of misconduct, while my dad was the good cop who talks you to confession. My mum had wonderful words of wisdom, but I think a part of her believed more in the rod. Listening to my dad’s words everyday made them subconsciously stick into my head.                 Well, the bed was not all rosy, but it was pink at least, until the ailment struck…yea, it got my dad. He was taken everywhere we could get professional help to restore him, but it seemed we needed to pay a higher price for his life as days went by. He was to be flown to India for advanced medication. I was waiting for the traditional Nigerian youth service at this time, and I had just few days before my departure to my camp. A night be
